And now, it’s easier than ever to play it again.

A new fan project called Chrono Divide lets you play the classic 2000 RTS game right in your web browser. According to a PC Gamer report, it works with Chrome, Edge, and Safari. While it also supports Firefox, the developer advises against using it for the best performance. The project even works in mobile browsers.

Chrono Divide supports cross-platform multiplayer and includes all the original maps. You can even use some mods. In fact, multiplayer is pretty much your only option at the moment. The game’s single-player campaign modes—where you’ll find those famously “so bad, they’re good” cutscenes—are still being worked on.

“The project initially started as an experiment and was meant to prove that it was possible to have a fully working, cross-platform RTS game running in a web browser,” the project’s website explains. “Now, with a playable version already available, the end-goal is reaching feature parity with the original vanilla ‘Red Alert 2’ engine.”

You can try it out for yourself on the Chrono Divide webpage. To start, you’ll need to import the original game files, which the website conveniently links to on the Internet Archive. It’s a fantastic way to relive a classic game or experience it for the first time without any complicated setup.

Key Points Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 was famous for its wonderfully cheesy live-action cutscenes, but it was also a highly praised real-time strategy…

[48

post-28056","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-product
["GET
