Xbox has introduced a new feature allowing Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream select games directly on their consoles. This expansion of Microsoft’s cloud gaming efforts previously enabled Ultimate members to stream games on TVs, smartphones, PCs, and tablets.
The “Stream your own game” feature, which will officially launch next year for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, is now available for testing by Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings. Subscribers in these groups can stream Game Pass titles and select games they already own without installing them.
The feature is accessible in the 28 countries where Cloud Gaming is supported. Testers can navigate to My Games & Apps > Full Library > Owned Games to access their cloud-enabled titles. Games ready for streaming are marked with a cloud badge, and users can quickly filter them by selecting Filter > Ready to Play > Cloud Gaming. This eliminates installation time and saves storage space, offering a more convenient gaming experience.
Currently, 50 games are available for streaming, including popular titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Balatro, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Microsoft has confirmed plans to expand the catalog as more studios collaborate on this initiative.
Players interested in testing the feature can join the Xbox Insider Program by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub for Xbox consoles or Windows PCs. This program provides early access to features and helps shape Xbox’s future through user feedback.
