Slim, smooth, and smarter—iPhone 17 reimagines portability.

Key Points

  • A new, ultra-thin “iPhone 17 Air” model might be introduced to the lineup.
  • The Pro models could get a new, full-width “camera island” and an improved antenna design.
  • The base storage for all models may double to 256GB, possibly alongside a price increase.
  • The new iPhones are expected to be announced at a media event in September.

With Apple’s next iPhone event likely just a month away, rumors about the iPhone 17 lineup are heating up, and the biggest news points to a brand new model: an ultra-thin “iPhone 17 Air.” This new addition would join the standard iPhone 17 and the Pro models, potentially replacing the “Plus” size.

Leaks suggest this new Air model will be incredibly thin, possibly featuring a lightweight titanium frame. To achieve this, it might have a single camera lens and a much thinner battery, though that could come at the cost of a smaller capacity.

For the Pro models, the big design change could be a new, full-width “camera island” on the back, a first for Apple. Another leak suggests a new antenna design wrapped around the camera bump could lead to better wireless reception.

One of the biggest questions is always the price, especially with the possibility of new U.S. tariffs. To soften a potential price hike, some rumors suggest Apple might double the base storage on all models from 128GB to 256GB, pitching it as a better value for consumers.

As always, the new phones will run on the latest software, iOS 26, which features a new “Liquid Glass” design and more AI-powered tools. While nothing is official until Apple sends out the invites, most rumors point to an announcement event sometime in September.
