Apple introduced its latest product lineup at a launch event in Cupertino, including the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, and updated AirPods. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus feature water and dust resistance, new colors, and enhanced displays that can reach up to 2,000 nits of brightness. Both models run on the A18 chip with a 16-core neural engine designed to optimize Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.
The standard iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch screen, while the 16 Plus boasts a 6.7-inch display. These models include a customizable Action button and a new camera control tool that integrates Visual Intelligence, an AI-powered feature similar to Google Lens.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively, are crafted from Grade 5 Titanium, making them lighter than previous models. These Pro versions run on the advanced A18 Pro chipset, offering superior performance and efficiency. Their camera setups include 48MP main and ultrawide lenses and a 12MP telephoto lens, capable of recording 4K video at 120fps. Both Pro models will support Spatial Audio recording through four studio-quality microphones.
Apple also launched the AirPods 4, featuring a redesigned shape for a better fit and the H2 chip for improved audio quality. The standard model costs $129, while the version with active noise cancellation and Transparency mode costs $179. Both models have a USB-C charging case and offer Personalized Spatial Audio. Additionally, Apple introduced hearing aid features for the second-generation AirPods Pro, including a clinical hearing test and “Hearing Protection.”
The new Apple Watch Series 10, featuring the largest display and thinnest design yet, was also unveiled. It includes a wide-angle OLED screen and a new S10 SiP chip that enhances performance and efficiency. The Watch will support new fitness and health features, such as sleep apnea detection and scuba tracking, pending FDA clearance. Pre-orders for all announced products begin immediately, with availability starting September 20.
