Key Points

  • Crypto ETFs saw a record $5.95 billion in global inflows last week.
  • The massive investment came as Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of over $126,000.
  • The U.S. led the way with $5 billion in inflows into its crypto ETFs.
  • The rally is being driven by a search for safe-haven assets amid economic uncertainty.

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that track cryptocurrencies saw a record-breaking $5.95 billion in global inflows last week. The massive wave of investment came as strong demand for digital assets pushed Bitcoin to a new all-time high of over $126,000.

The record inflows highlight the growing mainstream acceptance of crypto as a legitimate asset class. According to data from CoinShares, the United States led the charge with a huge $5 billion flowing into its crypto ETFs. Switzerland and Germany also saw record inflows.

Bitcoin was the biggest draw, attracting $3.55 billion, but other major cryptocurrencies also saw strong demand. Ethereum-focused ETFs garnered $1.48 billion, while Solana and XRP also saw substantial investment.

The crypto rally is happening alongside a similar surge in the price of gold, another traditional safe-haven asset. Analysts say that a weakening U.S. dollar, combined with economic uncertainty and ongoing trade tensions, is prompting investors to seek alternative investment opportunities.

“This level of investment highlights the growing recognition of digital assets as an alternative in times of uncertainty,” said James Butterfill of CoinShares.

This year’s crypto boom has been fueled by several factors, including more supportive government policies under President Donald Trump, growing demand from big institutional investors, and the increasing integration of digital assets into the global financial system.
