Adobe is rolling out a new update for Photoshop that brings some significant improvements to its AI-powered tools and introduces a few other handy new features. As you might expect, artificial intelligence is the star of the show.

The tools that are getting the biggest boost are Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and Remove, all of which are powered by Adobe’s Firefly AI platform. With the new update, these tools will now produce results in a higher 2K resolution. Adobe says the AI is also getting smarter, with fewer weird artifacts, more detail, and a better ability to match the text prompts you give it.

The “Reference Image” feature for Generative Fill is also getting a major upgrade. This tool, which allows you to use one image to influence the style of another, will now produce “geometry-aware results that better match the scene.”

But it’s not all about AI. The update also includes a beta version of a new feature called “Dynamic Text.” This will make it much easier to transform a text layer into a curved or warped shape, a task that has traditionally been a bit clunky in Photoshop.

Finally, Adobe has added three new “adjustment layers”: Clarity, Dehaze, and Grain. These are non-destructive editing tools that will give users more control over the look and feel of their images without having to make permanent changes.
