Samsung SDS, the IT service unit of Samsung Group, announced plans to launch its generative AI service, FabriX, on Microsoft Azure to expand its global user base. The announcement was made during the Real Summit 2024 tech conference in Seoul, where Samsung SDS CEO Hwang Sung-woo highlighted the benefits of the collaboration for both Azure and FabriX clients. Microsoft’s Chief Operating Officer, Mark Souca, confirmed the partnership via video conference, noting the launch is expected in the U.S. and other countries as early as next month.

FabriX is a cloud-based generative AI platform that connects IT resources such as enterprise data, knowledge assets, and work systems to AI, helping employees share and use these resources more efficiently. The service supports large language models like ChatGPT and Naver’s HyperCLOVA X. It has already been utilized by companies such as Samsung Life Insurance, Paradise Group, and Woongjin to improve business efficiency.

During the conference, Samsung also showcased its generative AI-based Brity Copilot, an automated digital assistant designed to streamline business processes like email, messaging, meetings, and document management. Brity Copilot’s features include real-time subtitles and translation, enhancing multilingual conference services and overall business efficiency. The AI services FabriX and Brity are already used by Korean and international clients, including Vietnam’s CMC Group, Daesang Wellife, Korea’s Rural Development Administration, Korean Air Lines, and LIG Nex1. Samsung SDS Vice President Hong Sun-gi noted that FabriX and Brity’s applications could extend to the financial sector, including investment risk management and fraud prevention.
