In contrast, losses in sectors including Construction, Transportation & Logistics, and Software weighed on the market sentiment. At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose by 0.15%, reaching a new all-time high. However, the MDAX index lost 0.07%, while the TecDAX index added 0.02%.
Among the top performers on the DAX was Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), rising by 3.03%, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), gaining 2.12%, and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), climbing 1.84%. Conversely, Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) fell by 1.42%, Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined by 1.37%, and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was down by 1.06%.
On the MDAX, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) rose by 2.47%, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) was up by 1.78%, and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) gained 1.75%. Meanwhile, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) fell by 5.56%, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) lost 3.19%, and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) was down by 3.02%.
In the TecDAX, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) rose by 4.22%, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) was up by 2.47%, and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) gained 1.45%. Conversely, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) fell by 9.85%, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) lost 7.76%, and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) was down by 5.56%.
Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all-time highs, while Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) rose to 52-week highs. The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up by 3.74% to 12.77.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery rose by 1.90% to $2,254.80 a troy ounce. Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.16% to $83.11 a barrel, and the June Brent oil contract rose by 0.05% to trade at $86.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD remained unchanged at 1.08, while EUR/GBP remained unchanged at 0.85. The US Dollar Index Futures was up by 0.20% at 104.27.
