According to other reports, the new data center is planned for a location just outside of Memphis, Tennessee. This is the same area where xAI is already building the world’s largest supercomputer, a project they call “Colossus.”
The company’s ambitions are massive. Musk plans to eventually fill these data centers with at least one million graphics processing units (GPUs). To power all this hardware, xAI is even building its own natural gas power plant nearby. Construction on the new MACROHARDRR facility is expected to begin sometime in 2026.
