Samsung Electronics hosted its ninth annual Samsung AI Forum 2025, a two-day event bringing together leading academics and industry experts to discuss the future of artificial intelligence. The forum, held at Samsung’s education facility in Yongin and online, explored crucial advancements and potential challenges in the field.

Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun emphasized Samsung’s dedication to integrating AI across its diverse business operations, aiming to create more intuitive and seamless AI technologies.

The first day, themed “Vertical AI Strategies and Vision for the Semiconductor Industry,” featured presentations by renowned figures such as Yoshua Bengio, a pioneer in deep learning, and Amit Gupta, Senior Vice President at Siemens EDA.

Bengio highlighted the potential risks of unchecked AI development, introducing his “Scientist AI” model, which is designed to prioritize factual accuracy and mitigate risks. Gupta stressed the importance of integrating AI into electronic design automation tools to enhance efficiency and unlock the full potential of AI in semiconductor design.

The second day shifted focus to “From Generative to Agentic AI,” exploring the evolution from AI capable of generating content to AI systems that can autonomously make decisions and execute tasks.

Cheun Kyung-whoon, Samsung Electronics’ CTO, emphasized the increasing importance of generative AI in daily life and various industries. He highlighted Samsung’s commitment to developing Agentic AI technologies that deliver tangible user benefits. Keynote speakers on the second day included Subbarao Kambhampati and Stefano Ermon, experts in AI planning and decision-making from Arizona State University and Stanford University, respectively.

The forum served as a platform for exchanging ideas and insights on the rapidly evolving field of AI, demonstrating Samsung’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI technology and its responsible development.
