Key figures from President-elect Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency venture are set to headline the Bitcoin MENA conference in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant moment for the digital currency industry. The event, expected to draw over 6,000 attendees, will feature a keynote address from Eric Trump and a series of exclusive discussions with high-profile participants.
Eric Trump’s address on Tuesday will highlight the growing influence of cryptocurrencies. At the same time, billionaire Steve Witkoff, White House envoy for the Middle East and co-founder of World Liberty Financial (WLF), will engage with “whale” investors in VIP sessions. These exclusive discussions require a $9,999 pass and are aimed at attracting major market players.
World Liberty Financial, co-founded by Donald Trump and his family, has emerged as a central player in the crypto space. The president-elect, WLF’s chief crypto advocate, holds 22.5 billion WLF tokens and shares in the company’s revenues. Sons Eric, Don Jr., and Barron are ambassadors for the platform launched in September.
The conference comes as Bitcoin recently smashed records, reaching $100,000, buoyed by Trump’s pledge to make America the global hub for cryptocurrency. He has also appointed David Sacks, a former PayPal executive and close ally of Elon Musk, as White House czar for AI and cryptocurrencies. Musk, a prominent Trump supporter, contributed significantly to his 2024 campaign.
The event will feature industry leaders such as Binance founder Changpeng Zhao and blockchain innovator Justin Sun. Both have faced legal challenges under the previous administration but remain active cryptocurrency proponents. Speakers like Trump’s 2016 campaign manager, Paul Manafort, will further discuss the intersection of politics and digital assets.
